Dear Soccer Players,
The one and only Phuket Soccer 7s will celebrate
its 7th anniversary this year. This tournament has developed
into one of the largest 7s tournament in Asia and we expect
that the response will be such that we will again need to
run 2 tournaments, with the 4th Andaman International Soccer 7s.
With categories for both open and vets
there is something for everyone. What are you waiting for?
Come and experience for yourself, the excitement and buzz
of the most popular and memorable event on the soccer social
calendar.
These tournament are an invitation tournaments that provide
a socially competitive environment for players who approach
the game with the right attitude and in the right spirit.
With no prize money at stake, teams take part for one reason
only, their love of soccer. |
 |

|
More than 50 teams from 18 different countries participated
in last year's tournaments including some teams of ex-pro players from the Australia National team and
English and French professionals which was a huge bonus.
The fun will not be confined just to the playing field. We
plan to take advantage of the vibrant nightlife and the delicious
cuisine by arranging a few memorable parties for your enjoyment.
This will be the best yet so we look forward to you contributing
to a fun weekend. |
If you are interested in participating in our next
event or in the future,
please contact us for inquiries
& preregistrations.
Hope to see you there!

FIFA President Opens Phuket Football Center
On the 15th September 2009, Fifa president Sepp Blatter has opened the Phuket Tsunami Memorial Football Centre. The president of the global football governing body was welcomed by FIFA President Opens Phuket Football Center. Football Association of Thailand (FAT) president Worawi Makudi, Phuket officials and more than 100 students from Ban Ao Nam Bo School where the centre is located.
"I often speak about how football can be used as a tool for social change, or express solidarity and hope," the Fifa boss said. "I first visited this site three years ago and I am very, very proud to see what is now available for these children. With a facility like this, we can help make the lives of these children a bit better and give them hope after what they've experienced, through the game of football." |

 |
Fifa donated 700,000 euros (35 million baht) for two football pitches and two buildings. The centre also has a clubhouse, an accommodation block, a multi-purpose hall and training facilities. Construction of the Phuket centre began in 2006, two years after six southern provinces were hit by tidal waves in one of Thailand's worst natural disasters. The undersea earthquake on Dec 26, 2004, off Sumatra killed nearly 230,000 people in 11 countries. Nearly 5,400 people were confirmed dead in Thailand.
Mr Worawi, who is also a Fifa executive member, said the centre would be for children from tsunami-hit provinces to play football and perform other activities, and act as a training centre for the national team.
Mr Worawi also confirmed this Phuket facility would primarily be for children of tsunami hit provinces; but this new pitch was already used for the Phuket International Soccer 7s tournament last year and again will host this year's tournament over the last 2 weekends in November, so fit expats here & in Asia can also enjoy FIFA's quality surface. |
