Boca Seniors have been playing in Hong Kong’s Yau Yee League (YYL) since 1997. We have been coming to Thai 7’s tournaments in Bangkok and Phuket since 2005 having mixed success over the years depending on how enthusiastically we have approached our usual ‘refuelling’ techniques the previous evening. We have won the Open Bowl in Bangkok in 2005, runners’ up in the Open Bowl in Phuket in 2006 and won the Masters Plate in Phuket in 2008. Boca’s squads over the years have included the full range of nationalities usually found within Hong Kong’s expatriate community... Boca strongly believe in the philosophy of match days consisting of three ‘halves’ and you can guarantee that whether we win, lose or draw during the first two of these ‘halves’, Boca will be sure to outshine the opposition during the third half. Thank you for inviting Boca Seniors to come back and defend their Plate trophy in the Phuket International Soccer 7’s Tournament this year. We look forward to meeting again all the other teams this weekend and remember, it’s all about your performance in that crucial third half… SEE YOU IN BANGLA !!

BRITISH FOOTBALL CLUB TOKYO (Japan) |
 |
 |
Country: Japan
City: Tokyo
Team Color: Red and White
Captain: James Morson
Players: British, Japanese... mostly |
BFC is one of Tokyo's leading expat teams playing in the first division of the Tokyo Metropolis League.
The club was formed more than 30 years ago and now has two teams and over a 100 active (and less-active) members. Winning back to back championships in 07 and 08 was clearly a bit much for the BFC though as last season they slipped to third in the standings. With a few new signings over the Summer though they look to be back on track after a strong start to the new season. The Phuket teams are made up of current members and OBs (flying in from as a far afield as Japan (obviously), Malaysia, China, Australia and the UK).
You can be sure the emphasis will be firmly on what goes on after dark as well as the football as we will also be celebrating Brian 'the engine' Doyle's last cry for freedom before his Las Vegas wedding the following weekend.....

|
Country: UAE
City: Dubai
Team Color: Orange
Captain: Daniel
Players: English'ish
|
The present Dubai Spartans team was formed in 2006 and in its inaugural year became the first ever Div 2 team to win the Dubai Amateur League Cup under the guidance of the tourmeister Dan. Having elected to take part in Div 3 of the same league this season, we are currently top with maximum points (kiss of death). More than half of the present team have Far East Experience (sic) are hardened tourists able to navigate the furthest depths of Wanchai, P.Burgos St. and other areas where haircuts and oranges proliferate.
As first timers in this event I would like to thank the organisers and the sponsors
for hosting and the bars for providing the happy hour beers we await ….. ?

FOOTY JAPAN FC (Japan) |
 |
 |
Country: Japan
City: Tokyo
Team Color: White shirts (red trim) Red Shorts
Captain: Sid Lloyd
Players: British, European, Australasian, Japanese. |
FJFC are back this year to defend their championship title in the Masters competition. Last year's final saw the Tokyo-originated team, comprised of players who either live or have lived in Japan, dispatch of a very well-drilled Bondi team with a decisive penalty (the last kick of the game) that sealed the deal. This year FJFC intend to do everything in their power to prevent themselves from playing decent football - including but not limited to the following: not sleeping, drinking with Shanghai Krauts (fun but extremely dangerous!), eating dodgy food from street vendors, eating dodgy girls from street bars, getting alcohol poisoning the night of arrival and every night thereafter, overdosing on Gatorade, getting deported for being pissed and lairy, getting spiked with Rohypnol. That said, none of the above stopped us last year and that was with only half a team making it across. We love this tourney and look forward to seeing you all on the pitch, this year with our FULL squad. "Come on then!!" |

MALAYSIAN
GRASSHOPPERS FC (Malaysia) |
 |

|
Country: Malaysia
City: Kualalumpur
Team Color: Blue
Captain: Ivan Munoz & Kurth RoelliPlayers: German and international
|
The Malaysian Grasshoppers were formed in 1993 predominantly for the German speaking community in Kuala Lumpur at that time. The basis of the team was to play hard and socialize even harder. Over the years the MG's have become international in nature and have also welcomed many local Malaysians to play with them, but the hard-core of the team is still German speaking. It is a lasting tribute to Jurg Ruckmar , Kurt Roelli and Karl-Heinz Heil, the founding fathers of the Grasshoppers, that they created a club able to field English, Argentinean, French,Turks, Greeks, and Germans all on the same pitch without any international incidents, of note! Over the years The MG's have not had too much success on the pitch, but glimpses of excellence have surfaced sporadically from a sea of mediocrity. Nevertheless, win or lose the MG's have Premier league status when it comes to the ‘ third half' with many players shining more in the bar than in the box! The future looks bright for the Malaysian Grasshoppers. The numbers of players continues to increase, the standard of play improves with every Weis beer consumed, and we have a Captain with a mission to take us to the stars, (or is that bars?). Our opposition should be afraid….very afraid! |

PENANG INTERNATIONAL SOCCER SQUAD (Malaysia) |
 |
 |
Country: Malaysia
City: Kuala Lumpur
Team Color: White
Captain: Acting Tom Lee
Players: International… |
We are an assortment of internationals living in Penang from the fishmonger to the physicist with 1 common weekend desire; to live gloriously on the pitch. Our motto of "life is short, make memories," drives PISS players to challenge every ball, beer and booty with an unending passion to live every moment. At times, we do lick our wounds in the final minutes of that rare losing match, but with cold beer awaiting, sorrows will flow away.
On or off the pitch, madness reigns king at PISS. |

SHANGHAI KRAUTS FC - DIE ZWEITE (China) |
 |
 |
Country: China
City: Shanghai
Team Color: Red / White
Captain: Jan Matzke / Sven Schmieder
Players: German and other friends around the world
|
It is time now for Krauts die Zweite (better known as Sauerkrauts) to leave a footprint in international soccer. To play a significant role during this year Masters we knew we had to focus our preparation on the mental part and administration. For example: How to book a flight. Sounds easy but how tough even that can be Sven had to experience last year. Others had to attend our Sponsor Bar Judy's for: “How to deal with the attention of more han one woman” and “Getting drunk the smart way”. We are on the roadmap of success that shows our latest result in the League. Just some fine tuning in dealing with high expectations and clearing the sclera. Back On Sven. He left Shanghai already on a three wheeler while the others again booked their flight with Dragon Air. So see you on the sideline fighting dehydration. Shanghai Krauts – Die Zweite |

TEAM BONDI (Australia)
|
 |
 |
Country: Australia
City: Sydney
Team Color: White
Captain: Michael
Players: Australian |
Team Bondi return to the Phuket 7’s after being Champion in 2007. They bring along the usual suspects in strikers Gabi “Seafood” Rachamim and Avrom “Bobby” Sank along with tough defenders Mick Swibel, Gary Weiss and Phil Wolanski who enjoy holding up the rear. This backline has seen more cards than a croupier at a casino!Midfield dynamo and soon to become Thai citizen Gary Braude is joined by the “youngsters of the squad” Gary Phillips and Rodney Mendes who make their Phuket debuts. Clive Barrett will weave his magic all over the park while Andy Prentice dons the gloves between the sticks and the lads hope he stays away from dodgy prawns on this trip. |
