Dear Soccer Players,
The one and only Phuket Soccer 7s will celebrate
its 10th anniversary this year. This tournament has developed
into one of the largest 7s tournament in Asia and we expect
that the response will be such that we will again need to
run 2 tournaments, with the 7th Andaman International Soccer 7s.
With categories for both open and vets
there is something for everyone. What are you waiting for?
Come and experience for yourself, the excitement and buzz
of the most popular and memorable event on the soccer social
calendar.
These tournaments are an invitation tournaments that provide
a socially competitive environment for players who approach
the game with the right attitude and in the right spirit.
With no prize money at stake, teams take part for one reason
only, their love of soccer. |

Finally !!!! We have a top class facility in the Thanyapura Sport Leisure & Club to offer you this year and in the future. This centre is part of the Phuket International Academy (PIA) which is an integrated facility boasting Phuket’s newest International Day School, a multi-faceted Sports and Leisure Club and the Mind Centre sanctuary that provides training in the cultivation of mental and emotional balance.
Thanyapura Sport and Leisure Centre (TSLC) provides a world-class range of sports, wellness and recreational facilities for the enjoyment of the local Phuket community, visiting professional and amateur athletes from around the world. This centre sets a benchmark as a regional hub for sports, arts and wellness in Thailand and Asia.
This year both tournaments will have 40 teams in each and the number of countries represented gives it a truly international flavour. Teams will come from all over Asia, but also from Australia, England, France, Germany, Holland, Russia and several countries from the Middle-East.
Our welcome and awards party venues relationship continue with our long standing supporters, the Taipan Discoteque and Soi Crocodile Bars..
We also acknowledge our partnership with the Patong Hotel & Resort where will be handled captains briefing and press conference, and with a selection of tournament hotels including Patong Premier Resort, Kamala Beach Estate, Royal Phawadee Village and Villa Ruen Thai.

2012 Phuket International Songkran Soccer 7s Winners
The first Songkran Soccer 7s was held at the fantastic Thanyapura Sports and Leisure Centre on Saturday the 14th April. 15 teams from 5 countries participated in the one day tournament in very hot conditions. The open category bowl competition was won by Pulau Ubin FC from Singapore who defeated Thanyapura 2 – 0. The masters cup saw Emirates Colour Services from Dubai defeat Phuket Morning Star 4 – 0. The main Cup final was won by the local Phuket Italians who defeated Dubai’s Smart Communications 3 -2 in a game that was decided by a golden goal in extra time.

We at Women’s Will Power have been developing our calendars since 2009. By basing ourselves on the features demanded by our supporters, we have created an innovative new style of our calendar to be more elegant and stylish which we believe will help to show off what Phuket has to offer including life style and the environment and promoting it with the artistic way using both Phuket and Bangkok professional photographers.
We have been looking at many different charities and organizations and only recently we have developed a partnership with a charity within Phuket that has been helping all victims of abuse, in Phuket, including children and women and it is this charity that we at WWP will be helping with the sale of this year’s calendars.
WWP is a group of professional women who live and work in Phuket. And our aim is to raise funds for helping the victims of abuse to help them take hold of their lives and help them to improve their future.

Football Referees' Association of Singapore
On last February 2011, FRAS referees was on weekend trip in Phuket Island. After a friendly football game arranged against Bigfoot Kickers (Krabi team leaded by Soony), the guys had a wonderful time with snorkeling, island shopping, bay watching and of course for memorable nightlife parties in Bangla road. Thanks to FRAS to have supported and booked their rooms for 3 nights at Patong Resort, the Official Phuket Soccer 7s Tournament Hotel. Cheers FRAS guys, and see you again in Phuket on Next November for much more fun!

In the memory of Ian Gray, the Phuket International Soccer 7s Masters will be named "The Ian Gray Masters Cup".
On last year we lost a great friend and supporter of all things football, Ian “Iggy” Gray. Ian was 46 years old.Iggy lived life to the full and loved life. He gave 100% to everything and never looked back.You couldn’t meet a more humble bloke. Iggy talked very little about his Socceroos (Australian National Team) career although it was significant with 33 appearances, and 2 World Cup campaigns. Despite being a highly credentialed coach Iggy preferred to work with the grass roots and the old oaks, most notable, the famous “Team Bondi” team. There are hundreds of budding young stars in Sydney’s east who owe most of their talent and work ethic to his influence, Many players, including Mark Schwarzer and Steve Corica credit Iggy with being instrumental in their own early development. Iggy coached and played with the Team Bondi Masters teams to great success in the South East Asian sevens football circuit for many years. Iggy was a friend to many people who will be participating in this year’s tournaments. All will have fond memories of their relationship with him including his dry sense of humour and really bad jokes. I guess this quote from an Ian Gray tribute website sums it up “We all love you and miss you. You were not only our coach, you were our brother and mentor. You were always so happy and never in a bad mood. You were always the first to make a joke and always the quickest to make a comeback. Life will never be the same without you.” We also miss you mate. 2 Russian Teams in the Phuket Soccer 7s for the First Time!
The Andaman & Phuket International Soccer 7s will be covered by Phuket Russian TV and Русский Magazine the only TV & Russian media in Phuket. BTW, 2 Russian teams will be in the competition for the first year.
