AIOLI UNITED FC (Singapore)

AIOLI UNITED, name of the team comes from the defunct but previously acclaimed Provence Restaurant in Singapore : AIOLI. To compensate the impact of long years of Wine and Cheese abuse and maybe not to have guilty conscience, we decided to form AIOLI UNITED to join ESPZEN, the Singaporean amateur football league. Most of us are French working in Singapore, but some good friends decided to choose AIOLI to express their football skill. Is it not a revolution in the Football history : Italian and French playing the same football ;-) Key Dates : August 2005 : first game for AIOLI in ESPZEN Division 6, January 2007 : AIOLI is promoted in ESPZEN Division 3, Mai 2008 : New kit for AIOLI : Red and Black stiped jersey. Is it to honor our Italian Friend ? ;-), July 2008 : AIOLI in ESPZEN Division 1

While we were originally an “Italian” team, our current squad has talented players from countries all over the world: Brazil, Canada, China, Finland, France, Senegal, Spain, UK, Uruguay, and USA Azzurri FC (Previously Club Italia). 15 Seasons in SIFL, 2 SIFL Premier League Championship, 1 SIFL Cup, 2 Hebiguchi Cup Runners-Up, 2 Opening Tournament, 1 Closing Tournament, 1 SIFL Plate, SIFL player of the Year. 2005/06 - Luca Merlone (Azzurri). 2009/10 - Guillaume Leclerq (Azzurri), 2010/11 - Steve Phillips (Azzurri). We are Shanghai’s Azzurri Football Club and have been playing in the SIFL since 1996.The 2009/10 season saw our best performance ever as SIFL League Champions. Winning 3 of a possible 5 trophies, we also won both the Opening and Closing Tournaments. Our reign at the top continued into the 2010/11 season as we repeated to win the League and Open Tournament. Needless to say, the 2011/12 objective can only be 1st place!!! While we were originally an “Italian” team, our current squad has talented players from countries all over the world: Brazil, Canada, China, Finland, France, Senegal, Spain, UK, Uruguay, and USA… just to name a few! But, we do all have something in common; our love for all the fine things in life such as excellent food & wine, fancy football skills, and beautiful women. The British Hotspurs competes in the Singtel Cosmo League and a established and successful team known throughout Singapore amateur football.. Hotspurs team will consist of both the young and experienced (old) and will be looking to go one step further than last year and win the tournament.. With a squad boosting the likes of seasoned players such as Henry Blake Turner, Barry ‘ Lomper’ McVeigh, Ally ‘Over Me’ Loney and the up and coming players of Jamie ‘Balotelli’Townsend, Phil ‘Goal shy’ Childs, Graham ‘Bling Bling’ Bignell we will be a force to reckoned with and hopefully secure the cup for our gaffer Joel Carpenter.

We are bunch of friends who gather on Saturdays in Discovery Bay (Hong kong) to play. We have a mix of nationalities and what bring us together is the passion we have for this sport. This year is our second time on Thai 7 and we decided to attend both tournament, just to have twice the fun we had last year (in and out the pitch). See u all there!

This year the Hanoi Drink team has decided, for the first time ever, to be part of the 2 back to back tournaments organized in Phuket… which means 2 extra days of football and many extra nights of entertainment! Some of our old glories will leave the squad with tears in their eyes after the Andaman 7s (masters category) and some of our young guns will join the group with smiles on their faces for the Phuket 7s (open category). They will probably bring us some more skills and energy on the pitch but will certainly show less composure and experience at the bar!

The Hong Kong All Stars – a well drilled team consisting of German organization, English sportsmanship, Gallic charm (Arsène Wenger Style), Canadian ruggedness, Japanese agility, Nepalese mountain climbers and Scottish alcoholics. A combination of seasoned tour regulars and new blood, looks to bring total football and total drinking to this year’s Andaman 7’s. The defending Masters Champions aim to continue winning on both fronts - on the pitch and in the bar.

INSEAD FC is the official football team of INSEAD business school. All team members follow the same MBA program and over 10 nationalities are represented in the team. Our objective is to have a good time playing football together and with other teams while representing our school in a competition. The team trains on a weekly basis and regularly participates in football tournaments in Asia and in exhibition games with other universities. Our official sponsor is Barclays Bank.

SAMBA FC (Malaysia)

Samba FC is one of the first futsal teams in Malaysia to actively participate in Futsal and Street Soccer tournaments throughout the country. Driven by passion and friendship, the team was formed by a group of childhood friends 15 years ago and became one of the top teams in the country back in the years before Futsal, where there was only Street Soccer tournaments in the country. That was until Futsal was first introduced to Malaysia in the late 1990s. To pursue and develop their interest and love for the sport, Samba FC funded and built the team to where it is today. Samba FC has always been a multiracial team and remains the same to date, with a mix of Malay, Indian and Chinese players. Samba FC’s main aim is to create professional futsal players, professional tournaments, a futsal academy, training and coaching opportunities for the public to elevate futsal in the country through the club. Currently, Samba FC is on course to qualify for the National Futsal League. Due to the results and success of Samba FC over the years, it is widely recognized as one of the top teams in the country. The quality of players produced by Samba FC is evident, as one player was a mainstay in the national futsal team for 5 years. Whilst Futsal started off being the only focus for Samba FC, it slowly started being a feeder for the professional Football game in Malaysia. In total, four players from Samba FC have made it professionally in the Malaysian league, with one player currently still with the national team (football) and now playing professional football in the Malaysian Super League. Samba FC were the champions of the GIS Sixes Football League Division 1 and are now currently playing in the GIS Sizes Football League Championship as well as all major Futsal Leagues in Malaysia.

We’re a company team so entry is by association rather than by skill. The resulting riff-raff of players range from the fairly competent to the “can barely play” category but we all share a love of football and the obligatory after game beers. This will be our first foray into Phuket as a team so we’re gonna have a lot of fun and hopefully avoid total embarrassment on the pitch…

SHANGHAI LIONS FC (China)

We are a team mainly from French origin (over 50%) of the team, but we are proud to have players from Germany, Cameroon/Togo, Spain, UK, Holland, etc… Last 2010 – 2011 season, we finished runner-up of the Shanghai Int. League and won the SIFL Cup, while our 2nd team won the SPL and the SPL Cup. We definitively are one of “THE TEAMS TO BEAT…’ in Shanghai, and we will try to extend it to Asia this year….. Our accomplishments of the last years have been awarded with the SHANGHAI SPORTS TEAM OF YEAR (2010). Some of our key players' introduction: Jerome “4trous”: repented heavy drinker, lots of hairs on his body, big mouth, small dick, will never be able to score a header… Francois “Fiotte”: almost veteran now but still kicking strikers asses…he has made his life goal not be on time to any meeting ever…. Charles “Gorge”: strong, handsome, funny, great forward or defense player, might be confused with Rooney… (for his skills of course) (guess who wrote the article…) Flying Gwen: better comic than player, he spends his time imitating other players of the team…If only he could imitate Puyol in our defense… Al’âne Mandale: AKA Juda….has a lot to prove in the team this year…. In the name of all the Shanghai LIONS team players, we are proud to participate in this tournament and are in to win it!
