All teams are invited to provide a team picture, logo and colour, players nationality,
with a short resume that will be presented in the Tournament Programme and Website.

BOCA'S JUNIORS (Hong Kong)
Logo BOCA SENIORS (Hong Kong)

Country: Hong Kong
City: Wanchai
Team Color: Blue and Yellow
Captain: Tunners
Players: Mainly English

Boca Seniors have been playing in Hong Kong’s Yau Yee League (YYL) since 1997. We have been coming to Thai 7’s tournaments in Bangkok and Phuket since 2005 having mixed success over the years depending on how enthusiastically we have approached our usual ‘refuelling’ techniques the previous evening. We have won the Open Bowl in Bangkok in 2005, runners’ up in the Open Bowl in Phuket in 2006 and won the Masters Plate in Phuket in 2008. Boca’s squads over the years have included the full range of nationalities usually found within Hong Kong’s expatriate community... Boca strongly believe in the philosophy of match days consisting of three ‘halves’ and you can guarantee that whether we win, lose or draw during the first two of these ‘halves’, Boca will be sure to outshine the opposition during the third half. Thank you for inviting Boca Seniors to come back and defend their Plate trophy in the Phuket International Soccer 7’s Tournament this year. We look forward to meeting again all the other teams this weekend and remember, it’s all about your performance in that crucial third half… SEE YOU IN BANGLA !!

BOMBAY GYMKHANA (India)

Country: India
City: Numbai
Team Color: Yellow/Black
Captain: Hashim D’Souza / Sanjeev Saran Mehra
Players: Indian

Having put in an outstanding performance in the bars & clubs in February 2009, the boys from Bombay Gymkhana now return for their 2nd visit to Phuket with the hope of taking their ‘off the field’ form onto the pitch. Key players (pun intended) to watch out for are 'looking 4 love' Lodha & our slow yet amazingly quick handed keeper Singh. Keep an eye on the next Indian Gary Neville in defence, Bhardwaj. Malik & Siganporia will add the guts & glory in midfield and will also be a sound bet for a red card at some point so please don’t make them angry by tackling them. Leading by example will be veteran Rahul Raichand & his commander-in–chief Hashim D’Souza who will encourage the troops to work hard to chase the ball around under the blazing sun and then work even harder at chasing the skirt around Bangla Road at night. 2009 Spicy Soccer 7s, Plate Champions Cup, Open

BRITISH FC SPECIALIZED GROUP (Team-1) (Japan)

Country: Japan
City: Tokyo
Team Color: Black, White and Orange
Captain: Pablo Pomares
Players: British, Japanese

BFC is one of Tokyo's leading expat teams playing in the first division of the Tokyo Metropolis League. The club was formed more than 30 years ago and now has two teams and over a 100 active (and less-active) members. Winning back to back championships in 07 and 08 was clearly a bit much for the BFC though as last season they slipped to third in the standings. With a few new signings over the Summer though they look to be back on track after a strong start to the new season. The Phuket teams are made up of current members and OBs (flying in from as a far afield as Japan (obviously), Malaysia, China, Australia and the UK). You can be sure the emphasis will be firmly on what goes on after dark as well as the football as we will also be celebrating Brian 'the engine' Doyle's last cry for freedom before his Las Vegas wedding the following weekend..... Bang-la road beckons me thinks......
Despite plenty of silverware over the years, our drinking ethic remains as strong as our football
ethic - we play to win, drink when we do, drink when we don't….

CALCUTTA CRICKET FC (India)

CALCUTTA CRICKET FC

FINEXSYS FOOTBALL CLUB (Malaysia)

Country: Malaysia
City: Kuching
Team Color: Blue and white
Manager: Ramles Sari
Captain: Zambery Zainal
Players: Malaysian

We’re a group of office workers who love football, and want to have fun playing the game. We train occasionally, but not too seriously. That’s only because, from time to time, we enter some local competitions. The more games we play, the more fun we have. And, if we win some trophies and collect some medals along the way, that’s a bonus. Just ask our coach. His tactical instructions are: “Go out there and enjoy your football!”

FOOTY JAPAN INTERNATIONAL FC (Japan)

Country: Japan
City: Tokyo
Team Color: White shirts (red trim) Red Shorts
Captain: Sid Lloyd
Players: British, European, Australasian, Japanese.

This year, Footy Japan has decided to forego any notion of winning the Open, as all of our players are the same ones competing in the Over 40's. But never forget, experience can count for much more than youth in 7's (until you go 3 nil down in the first 4-mins.) So if there's one thing we'll have in abundance, it's experience (and lot's of bottles of Red Bull). And if you can't lick that, what can you lick, eh??? (answers on a postcard to: I_never_dunnit@what_goes_ontour_stays_ontour.com)

Back to Team list

FRENCH KISS (Hong Kong)

Country: Hong Kong
City: Hong Kong
Team Color: Black & Blue / White
Captain: Steven
Players: Very very international

The team enjoys the games, and all what is happening before and after. In Phuket, we are surprised everytime by our results, taking into account we never make it to the pitch with a complete team. This year, we will do better, maybe shift the partying to after the games, and than, maybe not

HANOI DRINK TEAM (Vietnam)

Country: Vietnam
City: Hanoi
Team Color: Light blue and white
Captain: Stephane
Players: French, English, Italien, USA

This year the Hanoi Drink team has decided, for the first time ever, to be part of the 2 back to back tournaments organized in Phuket… which means 2 extra days of football and many extra nights of entertainment! Some of our old glories will leave the squad with tears in their eyes after the Andaman 7s (masters category) and some of our young guns will join the group with smiles on their faces for the Phuket 7s (open category). They will probably bring us some more skills and energy on the pitch but will certainly show less composure and experience at the bar!

HOTELTRAVEL.COM FC (Thailand)

Country: Thailand
City: Phuket
Team Color: Orange / Black
Captain: Watchara Readeebouk
Players: Thai, Indian, German, French, & Italian

This year marks the seventh (7th) year HotelTravel.com has sponsor and participated in the Andaman or Phuket Soccer 7s. After a disappointing result in 2008 the current team as actually had time to train together for six weeks and is determined to be more competitive. The side’s core objective: actually score a goal or three! HotelTravel.com is proud to be Phuket-based and provide the inside track for the best value online hotel deals on the planet. However the real objective of this competition is to make sure our employees have a blast! Expect many of our over 250 staff to be out in force to cheer on the HotelTravel.com side. We invite all participants to stop by our yellow & blue hospitality tent to share a refreshing beverage (or two!) in the spirit of this friendly competition.

SHANGHAI KRAUTS FC (China)
Logo SHANGHAI KRAUTS FC (China)

Country: China
City: Shanghai
Team Color: White
Captain:El Presidente
Players: mostly Germans

"Winning doesn't really matter as long as you win",Vinny Jones once said and really what could be a better theme for our 9th run? So here we come again: never missed a Phuket tour … well never won either.  Call us stubborn Germans we try again! This years “tour de pain” will feature a fine selection of well-known old-timers and Thailand-virgins: Asian greatest goalie Nicolas from Millerntor, “El Capitano”, Sebastian, JJ, Lars, Woody, Toby. Managed on and (mainly) off the ground by “El Presidente” himself.  Whatever happens on the pitch. guaranteed are the drinking contents with “Machine” himself, which in fact he’s never won. So let’s rumble like our idol John Best: "I spent 90 percent of my money on women and drink. The rest I wasted!" Soi Bangla we are coming again!

Back to Team list

SHANGHAI LIONS FC (China)

Country: China
City: Shanghai
Team Color: Black
Captain: Charles Grorg
Players: French, Belgium, Dutch, Britsh, German...

We are a team mainly from French origin (over 50%) of the team, but we are proud to have players from Germany, Cameroon/Togo, Spain, UK, Holland, etc…
Last 2010 – 2011 season, we finished runner-up of the Shanghai Int. League and won the SIFL Cup, while our 2nd team won the SPL and the SPL Cup. We definitively are one of “THE TEAMS TO BEAT…’ in Shanghai, and we will try to extend it to Asia this year….. Our accomplishments of the last years have been awarded with the SHANGHAI SPORTS TEAM OF YEAR (2010).
Some of our key players' introduction: Jerome “4trous”: repented heavy drinker, lots of hairs on his body, big mouth, small dick, will never be able to score a header… Francois “Fiotte”: almost veteran now but still kicking strikers asses…he has made his life goal not be on time to any meeting ever…. Charles “Gorge”: strong, handsome, funny, great forward or defense player, might be confused with Rooney… (for his skills of course) (guess who wrote the article…) Flying Gwen: better comic than player, he spends his time imitating other players of the team…If only he could imitate Puyol in our defense… Al’âne Mandale: AKA Juda….has a lot to prove in the team this year….
In the name of all the Shanghai LIONS team players, we are proud to participate in this tournament and are in to win it!

BIG BAMBOO SHANGHAI SHOOTERS (China)

Country: China
City: Shanghai
Team Color: Red / Black
Captain: John Joffre
Players: International.

The Shanghai Shooters AFC are happy to be coming back to the Phuket 7’s this year. We have been twice before, winning in 2004 and finishing runners-up in 2005. The Shanghai Shooters have been playing in the SIFL since 1998, and our record speaks for itself. 7 SIFL Premier League titles, 9 SIFL Cup wins and 3 SIFL Hebiguchi Cup wins. We have been on many tours around the region, where we have been quite successful with 4 Manila 6s wins, 1 Phuket win and 1 Bangkok Easter win to date. We have even played in Hong Kong 7s where we managed a 1-1 draw with Aston Villa and 0-0 with PSV Eindhoven. However, despite our successes on the field, we are probably better known for our tour off the field antics, and I can assure you, the Shooters will be the last team to be getting picked up off the floor on Soi Bangla!!! We will have a few “Asian” tour rookies with us this year, so they might be in a little danger of not knowing the differences between the ladies and the ladyboys…so I am sure there will be a few stories to tell!!!

Back to Team list

SINGAPORE NORD (Singapore)

Country: Singapore
City: Singapore
Team Color: Red
Captain: Sacha / Patrick
Players: Swiss +

Once-mighty "Singapore Nord"-- the Swissies won five national college titles between 1953 and 1964 -- took quite a fall. During the 1990s, "Singapore Nord" set a record that might stand forever, losing 80 straight games, a losing streak that nearly doubles the second-longest streak in the league -- "Chicken Kings" 44-game skein. Their worst year might have been 1991 -- they scored only 3 points all season, while giving up an average of 7 goals a game. After the Swissies ended their streak by beating "Long Johns" 3-2, coach Hans-Rudolf Moser said, "When I woke up this morning, I knew it was a special day."

Back to Team list

SINGAPORE WANDERERS FC (Singapore)

Country: Singapore
City: Singapore
Team Color: All White
Captain: Owen Monaghan
Players: International

Singapore Wanderers is a select team comprised of players from the Cosmoleague in Singapore based on ability rather than their nationality or team colours. The club has been successful in this tournament in recent years although a narrow loss to the Singapore Vikings in 2010 was a bitter pill to swallow so the 2011 squad will be looking to avenge that statistic. A few players to watch this year will be John ‘nuts’ Spackman, Steve ‘famous’ McMahon and James ‘I must score’ Kilbee. Team Manager Monaghan expects nothing less but good banter and good performances, both on and off the field!

Back to Team list

SPARTANS FC (Singapore)

Country: Singapore
City: Singapore
Team Color: Red
Captain: Martin
Players: Singaporian

“Spartans Football Club was established in 2004 by members of the Singapore Cricket Club National Football League team. Spartans FC is a social football team that participates in 11 and 7-a-side tournaments in Singapore and the region. As we have been playing together for over 10 years, and our competitive playing days are numbered, Spartans FC was created to continue the team spirit with regular friendly games and overseas tours for social competition. The Spartans motto is "Diversus Noster Vires" - Strength from Diversity - symbolising our mix of backgrounds and nationailities blended over the years through our common passion, football.”

Back to Team list

WEMBLEY DOWNS (Australia)

Country: Australia
City: Perth / Sydney
Team Color: Red
Captain: Mike and Rainer
Players: Australian

Aussie football at its most bizarre, a delicate mix of boundless enthusiasm, dedication to the cause and pointless optimism all wrapped up in a mission to shrug off through post Soi crocodile burry eyes and foggy minds to march boldly onto any pitch. A Perth/Sydney combination to grace any tournament with silky skills a plenty and a passion for victory that invariably results in a second or two of disappointment should we fail before reminding ourselves that any early exit means more drinking time. Our club motto...”She’ll be right mate, as long as there’s a Singha at the bar”. After season upon season of mediocrity we will be in Blue this year as Red clashes with our post-booze complexion and we blame the distress this has caused on our previous failures to land silverware. A dark horse for competition glory perhaps, as long as the competition involves nails, a hammer and a log (and is nowhere near a football pitch). Take us lightly at your peril because every now and then, we forget that there is drinking to be done and managed to send the ball in the general direction it is meant to go.
