Songkran Cup
Happy Songkran!
We welcome you to “The Original” Songkran Cup 5s which is organizing during the traditional Thai New Year called Songkran. This is the time for Thais to pay homage to Buddha images, clean their houses, and sprinkle water on their elders in a show of respect. Anyone who ventures out on the streets is likely to get a thorough dousing of water, all in good fun, but also quite welcome at the peak of the hot season.
In previous years the Songkran Soccer 7s has ended up being a one day tournament due to the number of teams. Please note that if this is the case you will still get exactly the same amount of games and parties as you would have for a two days tournament. It will just give you some more time to enjoy the great festivities of Songkran.
These tournaments do not happen without the support of companies. We would like to extend our gratitude to the Patong Resort Hotel (official hotel) and Aussie Bar Patong (welcome party). Thank you also to the business on Soi Patong who contribute, namely Home Pizzeria and Karlsson’s Bar & Restaurant (for your food needs), and Coca-Cola Haad Thip (soft-drinks & water). Special thanks to United Sports (tournament football balls provider).
Starting 6 years ago, we have made this a 5-a-side tournament as traffic will be horrendous over this period and we thought you would prefer a 5-10 min. drive to the venue rather than a potentially 1.5 to 2 hours drive to Thanyapura.
Enjoy the tournament and have a great time in Phuket.
