  • Format : 5-a-side (3 synthetic fields 50m x 30m, with 7-a-side goals).
  • Category : Open & Masters Men O’35s, O’40s, O’45s, O’50s & O’55s, and Open Women. 
  • Location : Patong Football Fields, Phuket Island. (see below)

Comments:
– This tournament is becoming very popular because the playing venue is in Patong so minimal transport to and from games, many shops nearby. You may be able to dip in the ocean or your hotel pool in between games.
– This tournament will suit those clubs that come with many age groups as they are all on the same weekend.

PLEASE NOTE: This tournament will also serve as a test / feasibility in order to structure the future format and rules of this tournament.

  • The field size is 50m x 30m with 7-a-side goals (bigger than your traditional 5-a-side / this size field would normally play 6 or 7-a-side).
  • We will only be playing 5-a-side so it will be challenging.
  • We expect to play with the existing field markings – the rules will relate to these markings.
  • We will not have throw ins – the ball will be played back into the field on the ground.
  • The goalkeeper will not be able to kick the ball from their hands.
  • Game time will be one period of 15 – with the size of the field and the heat we feel this will be challenging. (just like our 7s on a large field).
  • You can register a maximum of 10 players.
  • Interchange / rolling substitutions will apply.
  • Teams will play a minimum of 5 games
  • Please only nominate if you have enough players to fill a team – we have had many last-minute withdrawals as teams do not have enough players.
  • If you are nominating 2 teams, please make sure you have enough for 2 teams. We cannot guarantee that game times might not clash.
  • A NON-REFUNDABLE deposit will need to be paid to demonstrate your commitment.

Tournament Playing Venue

Patong Football Arena is the first artificial football field in Patong Beach (Phuket Island). As the venue is located in Patong it will be only a short drive from your accommodation if you are staying in Patong. There are 3 synthetic fields at the venue, changing room, toilets and drinking water stations. Foods and drinks will be available during the tournament.
